
ALESSIO CAZZETTA
Biography
Born in Switzerland, Alessio Cazzetta is a South-African / Italian Jazz guitarist and composer, currently based in Berlin and Basel. "He has made a solid name for himself nationally and internationally as a guitarist and congenial composer; his warm, sensual guitar sounds create an inviting, broadly dimensioned atmosphere."(Roche'n'Jazz) Over the years, he has toured across the globe, performing with well known artists such as David Binney, Vijay Iyer, Nils Wogram, Marie Krüttli, Arne Huber, Franco Ambrosetti, Caleb Curtis, Iago Fernandez, Nat Su, Yumi Ito, Craig Haynes(Sun Ra) to mention a few. His Discography spans 5 Albums under his own name, including his latest and upcoming Album "Love, Death & The Eternal Blues" which features a highly acclaimed European Line Up, plus esteemed saxophone luminary David Binney.
Additionally to performing, Alessio is an avid educator both on the guitar and composition. He was appointed head teacher of the guitar faculty at Kathmandu Jazz conservatory in Nepal, where he resided for over a year and was invited to collaborate in various collaborations.
He is currently touring with his own Quartet with Joshua Schofield, Genius Wesley and Josef Zeimetz and as a Sideman all across the globe.
